Sculpture by the Sea

I thought some of you in colder climes might like to see some beach shots I took today. Sculpture by the Sea is an annual event at Cottesloe Beach here in Perth, Western Australia. Oddly enough, this is the first time I've managed to go down to see it. I got there just after 6am, to try and get some good light and avoid the crowds. It paid off - it was a beautiful morning, and there weren't too many people.
I decided to try some handheld HDR shots, mainly because I thought a lot of the scupltures would be best shown that way. As always, some worked and some didn't, but I was pleased with them overall. These are the first run through, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun tweaking things and trying different things.

I'm trying to improve the treatment as we speak. Here's the latest I've come up with.
Ditto. And, as one who lives in a MUCH colder climate (at the moment) I appreciate seeing an expanse of beach and water that is not frozen solid.

I am glad you did not overdo the HDR.
I am in AZ and would love to meet others from Phoenix.
