7d & wireless flash exposure
Hi All,
I'm noticing that my images are slightly under exposed when I use a wireless flash as opposed to on camera, all else being equal. Let me explain a little better - everything here is E-TTL using a 7d and a 430 EX II. The flash is aimed straight up at a low ceiling and the seen is a small room. Looking at the histogram, when I take the flash off the camera and slave it, I have to bump up the FEC by 2/3 to get it to match the exact same shot with the flash on the hot shoe. All other settings remain the same.
Does this make sense? I can certainly dial it in, and in fact used to do that on older Canon cameras to get a good flash exposure. I was just surprised that being in the hot shoe or not mattered.
Thanks,
Jeff

Do you have any examples to post, preferably with full EXIF? Maybe the EXIF would reveal something?
