As the moon rose over Loch Lomond

This is the image I took following my first 22 minute exposure. The moon rose over the mountain shortly after. Exposure was not as long as the first of course due to the moons rate of travel.

It's not as successful as my 22 minute exposure but I still like the result. I would have liked a sharper more defined moon but it wasn't possible due to the requirement of a lengthy exposure.

Ian, I think it is beautiful. I've always loved Loch Lomond but never saw it this way before--lovely at night! Nicely done.

    Cheers.

Ric, is the Bonnie Bonnie bank a specific place or just a term used for any part of the lochside? :)

It was taken just off the A82 near Tarbet :). Sorry if I missed something here.. hehe.

Very nice indeed. Why the 2 seconds extra mwink.gif
Street & Portrait because of the people. Landscape because it's pretty.
Disappointed with AF of Tamron 28-75 2.8, me less happy.

The loch is featured in a well-known song which was first published around 1841.

     The chorus is:
<dl><dd>Oh, ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,</dd><dd>And I'll be in Scotland afore ye;</dd><dd>But me and my true love will never meet again</dd><dd>On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.</dd></dl>

    Bonnie, means fine or beautiful.

Hehe, Zebra, I didn't point my IR Shutter release at the sensor properly :D

Ric, tsk, I should have known. I know the song well and for some reason thought there was a specific area called that. Yes indeed it certainly was on the Bonnie Bonnie banks :)

    Cheers

And the song was featured in the movie "Thomasina," which was a favorite of mine as a little girl. :D

I really like the shot before the moonrise--EXQUISITE!!
