Hello....

I know in many ways this sizing subject has been discussed in the forum as I found several discussions, but none of them or the links or smugs topics of info helped me out, so I hope someone can help me here.

I have a pro account and want to upload my photos retaining original size and quality in case I ever need to download my images for one reason or another, but also for printing large prints. I want to use the export plug-in for lightroom to upload from, but it forces me to choose dpi in the size area. I read that dpi means nothing to smugmug, so is there a way around this and what settings should I use in the export plug-in? I will need to change from psd to jpg during export? I assume 100% quality?

Thank you for your help and time.

Michele

Most print labs require 240 dpi in sRGB color space. This is a good setting to use when uploading your images using the plugin. You will need to convert your files to jpeg and set the quality setting to 100%.

If you require faster uploads, you may wish to decrease the quality, but don't go below 80. In my experience, this is the lowest quality setting I would use when I know I'm going to make prints from the image files.
