Looking for a excellent condition razor sharp copy of the Canon 400mm L f5.6 prime with a newer date code UW, UX. I have the 100-400 but really want to give the 400 prime a shot with the 1.4 extender for BIF. Will request images of the lens and also images shot with the lens. Payment by regular PayPal.

Let me know what you have

Thanks

Ray Still

can I throw out a suggestion? I was looking at the 400 5.6 but then realized it's flaws... No IS and f/5.6

Then I noticed how cheap the 300mm f/4 IS L was. (I got mine used for $800ish)

    Throw a 1.4 on it and you have a 400mm f5.6 IS

I don't know your subject. I was in the same situation though, have the 100-400 but looking for something sharper, but I wanted IS.

Never liked the 300 plus TC option I myself had much better luck with the 400 straight much better for BIF where you use a faster shutter speed so no need for IS

Ray is a great guy to deal with just a super guy

Missed the BIF in OP. In that case reach is more important than IS. I don't personnally place a TC on mine. I just have it as an option. I prefer not to use my TC at all. I'm not doing BIF so I would imagine that even 400mm is lacking.
