Nice captures. I'm just getting into LAX. Where is you favorite place to stand while shooting? Is it like soccer or football?
Thanks! I move around depending on what team I am shooting, the best background, etc. (IE. Cornell is an attack oriented offensive team so I will try and get 5 yards or so above goal line extended. Army on the other hand is a 50-50 team so when shooting the Army O I moved around.)
I sit or kneel as much as I can as well as I like to shoot into the sun as much as I can for "helmet sports" as long as the sun is not too low. Had to stand at the start of this game as the heat waves coming off the turf were bad. Good Luck!

Thanks! I have 2 followup questions.
1) Shooting into the sun? wouldn't that make it tougher to see the faces?
2) What lens do you use. To shoot soccer and football I use my 400mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 in a two camera system. Is this the same for LAX?

Thanks again!:D
1. In my opinion no as you eliminate any shadows on the face with the sun at the players backs. To expose the players properly the backgrounds will most likely get blown out but after cropping, it all works out.
2. I use a D700 on my 300mm 2.8 99.9% of the time only. At this game I did carry my D300 with a 17-55 only because I was shooting 99% of the game from the bench side and I needed less glass to get the coaches, etc..
I would say with a 400 you will need a 70-200 as well.
