Just started shooting some girl's lacrosse. I'm toying with different treatments and not sure the direction to head. It would be great to get some frank opinions on what does and does not look great

Why are you wanting to apply a treatment? Where/what will these be used for?

The last treatment was the best. Didn't care for any of the others except #4 - which was pretty wild and may have a place. Just depends on what you are trying to achieve.

Some of the kids want kind of a different look for yearbook pics or funky stylized versions to put in their rooms.

I have to agree that I like the last one best myself. # 4 still has not grown on me.

Well, there's the catch. You're asking adults what they like... which is often times very different from what a teenager is going to like. headscratch.gif

I think your best option is to print a few or email a few different treatment options to some of the kids. See what THEY like. Once you get a taste of what they are looking for then you can narrow it down or find something else unique that might fit.

I just saw a posting on this forum (I think the title was "wrestling") that had an interesting one they treated with an application called Topaz (I hope I got that right). I thought it looked pretty cool!

I have also tried the 'watercolor' filter in Photoshop and I like the look.

Good luck and let us know what the kids pickout.

    Hi,
I guess I agree with everyone else too. Your originals are so good, it seems a shame to "treat" them. though the B/W (sort of) version is nice. Kids might like it if they stood out from the background better, like how people make the subject color and the rest B/W. For girls lacrosse though it's tough to make them look cute with those masks and mouthguards. So maybe treatments that enhance their intensity are better than treatments that make them cute (color and posterizing and stuff like that seem more like making it cute).
    but what do I know...

Try to get something of a graphic novel look. Might resonate with that generation of kid. Or an animee look.
