Comfort leads to failure

So I am not much of a formal studio photographer, controlled lighting environments scare me. I am much better off in natural light...but we will never get any better by constantly being comfortable right? So I took a few outside of my comfort zone. Here's two that I came home with. Let me know what you think.

Too busy for my tastes. Studio shots don't have to be intimidating-- start with a single light and reflector just like you'd do with natural light. Avoid the crazy stuff until you are hundred percent confident with the strobes.
