Well phooey - first "hitch" I've hit in adjusting to the new body. I've been using an RC1 with the xsi, so it never occurred to me it would'nt work with all Canon model. Oops!

I see there's a Phottix wireless remote which works with it, but looks like it sits in the hotshoe, which (presumably) means I couldn't use it with the ste2... which is almost always part of my wireless set up.

Suggestions that won't break the bank?

Thanks in advance!

I have one of these and love it!

Its not perfect, but works really well, esp with the price. (Oh yeah, and since it allows auto focus, it makes self portraits a snap.)

It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

Nice to know there's a solution, although it's so much bulkier and more complicated than in the Rebels! Sheesh....

Then again, it'll be harder to lose than the RC1 (damhik) :nahrolleyes1.gif.............

    Thanks!

This looks just like the Yong Nuo wireless trigger I use......complicated.....no, not at all...........all you need to do is to make usre the receiver and transmitter are on the same channel.........you can select from 16 channel combinations...........My Yong Nuo have been great and no hitches aside from allowing the batteries to run down..............

As the old series theme said............Move on UP!!:D

I have a Phottix wireless remote that I use with a D60 (which also uses the 3 pin connector) and the shoe mount is just a convenience for when you don't have a flash or STE 2 in the shoe. It is light enough to just hang with no problems.

PS Just noticed the post about the Cactus Wireless Shutter Release and I have one of these as well and kept having the on/off switch get pressed while in my bag even when in a ridged (sp) plastic case. So I took to taking the battery out. Then. . .when in a hurry lost the cover when putting the receiver battery back in. Got through that session without the cover but then ordered the Phottix when Team Speed had some for sale in the Flea Market here on dgrin.

Brilliant! Two choices to look at now. Thanks for the info! thumb.gif

Art said that his looks like the one Zanotti posted about in post #2 with a link. But, they are all over ebay with different brand names on them; but maybe actually coming from the same factory. This is also what the one that I talked about in my PS to my last post looks like. It has push buttons for the on/off switches and I would find the battery in the receiver dead unless I took the battery out in between uses. The Phottix model that I have the on/off switch is a sliding switch and I have not had a problem with coming back to dead battery.
