I went to the farmers' market yesterday and got some things to start my garden with and decided to try for some green shots before planting. I used a lensbaby and bounced on-camera flash in a very low-lit room.

Thoughts?

3. These last two are very similar but I can't decide which one is better

I really like #2 but it seems a little flat against a light background IMHO. Maybe boost the contrast a little to bring out the greens.

    I like #1 and 3.
#1 because it's a little different--I like the light and how they work with the lensbaby.

Both shots need a little something though.

Also I'd go with #1 over the rest because I think there will be lots and lots of plant shots and the lights make this one a little different. It has possibilities, but it's not there yet. What if the lights were behind the plant? ne_nau.gif
    Just an idea.

Good idea, but they seem too soft for me. I'd bump up the shutter speed somehow. I think it would also benefit from more color contrast (aesthetically, not technically).

Thanks a lot for the comments, guys. I had a reshoot a couple days ago, but inspiration had skipped town and I didn't come up with anything I was satisfied with. I've entered the shot below (#1 with some changes) and will keep my eyes open in case inspiration ever decides to come back from what must be a lovely beach vacation.

I like the last one best. - What about a red pepper (dry maybe), near to the plant? headscratch.gif
