Water

This is certainly not an urban street scene, but the county did widen the highway in front of our old farmhouse to four lanes. Now we are picking the farmhouse up and moving it back about 100 yards over the new basement we have dug. I'm documenting the whole move with thousands of photos. :rofl The first of this week, the power was cut to the house. Without electricity, we don't have water. So:

It's a lot easier to do without electricity than it is to do without water! However, I am now reduced to sitting in McDonald's parking lot to check my e-mail, which is why I haven't commented on photos lately. :cry

Hope you are up and running soon. Love that you are still documenting even in the midst of the upheaval.

Looks like you are documenting from somewhere in a third world country with people fetching water from a nearby stream :)

I lived in a primitive stone house for two years without water or electricity, and they were among the happiest years of my life. This was before the Internet, though, and I don't think I would care to repeat the experience. lol3.gif

Looking forward to seeing more pics. thumb.gif

Hope everything goes smoothly with the house move. I've always wanted to, "live of the grid," as the catch phrase goes. Something about it has always appealed to me.

Thanks, everybody! The actual move was supposed to start today but has been postponed by rain until Monday. We're looking at several weeks without power and several months without internet. I hope I'll survive. For those who are interested, my house-moving blog is:

    Thanks for the good wishes.
