Sukkur
I had a two day visit to Sukkur,Pakistan after 8 years.Visited many places there and had a wonderful journey
First the place i visited was river Indus and one of the largest Hindu temple called Saadu Baila (probably the biggest one in Pakistan) which was built on an island.
here are a few photos i took at river Indus
found these children playing at the bank of Indus
took this one on my way to Saadu Baila
unfortunately photography is prohibited in that temple
this photo is of our guide at Saadu Baila
the famous Ayub Bridge(semi circular one)
after that we went to masoluem, called 'Satin jo Aastan' and also took photo of Lansdowne Bridge on my way
Satin jo Aastan
view of bridges from Satin jo Aastan
Sukkur has a small twin city now considered a part of Sukkur called ROhri
an old misplanned city with congested buildings and streets so narrow that only one vehicle can pass through at a time or some streets are so narrow that a vehicle can't even enter. Rohri is famous for having 'Waar Mubarak'
a hair from the beard of Prophet Muhammad. The relic is encased in a glass
but visitors are only allowed to see after every friday prayers. Luckily it was friday but there were two to three hours left for prayers so i had to go to next place.
Waar Mubarak is situated in middle of congested narrow streets and houses
here are photos of that place from outside
in the streets of Rohri
next we went to Sukkur,
took these pictures there
after lunch i went to one the most famous place in Sukkur, Tower of Masoomshah probbably that is the tallest building in town
the stairs of tower,
you could have a very good view when you get to the top of the tower
on a walking distance from the tower of Masoomshah you will find, Clocktower which was built to commemorate the silver jubilee of King George V.
Clocktower
Clocktower at night when i was going for dinner
after that i visited a beautiful place, Lab-e-Mehran means the lips of Indus.
People come here ro relax and to picnic
took these pics there
Day 2
there are alot of shrines in SUkkur, first thing we did in morning was to visit a famous shrine called ' No Gaz Pir ' means nine yard saint
after that when we were going to the old part of the city we had to stop because a procession of 12th Rabi-u-Awal(the 12th day of third month of the Islamic calender on which Prophet Muhammad was born) was passing through the road.people in pakistan celebrate that day with enthusiasm.
had to wait for ten minutes
finally we got to another shrine known as 'Jeayshah'
the building of that shrine was constructed during the Mughal era
and is very beautiful
inside the shrine
took this photo of child at a shop
the streets of Old Sukkur
there is another tomb known as 'Adamshah ji Thakri' which was built on a hill. Adamshah was a saint he started a movement against the Mughals for right. This tomb was built after the Mughal era in Sindh in the year 1768.
took this one on my way to the hill
the grave of Adamshah
just like the tower of Masoomshah you get a good view of the city from Adamshah ji thakri
after visiting all these places it was time to leave.
took a few more photos on my way to the airport

Tip: You might want to limit the number of photos you add per thread. Maybe choose the best 10-15 or make seperate posts. That way the viewer doesnt 'drown' in the photos
