What do you guys know about the 50mm f1.2 AIS? I have a store looking around for one for me, and I want to know if it is worth it. I will be paying about 420 bucks for it.

I own one. It can be an interesting lens to use, but the MF on a full frame camera gives you a razor thin DOF wide open. I seem to do much better with my Nikkor 50mm, f1.4 lens with good AF. Mine is pretty sharp wide open.

It is a great old lens. The only thing you have to watch is flaring if the light hits it. Which is easy because of the size of the front element. Other than that it is a great glass. Oh and I see they are selling for as much as $600 on some of the sites used departments.
    I shoot therefore Iam.

Thanks guys. They found one, but it was above $450, which in my opinion is not worth it because the 1.4 is almost as good, and it has AF, and it is much cheaper, new! So tomorrow I will be trading in my 60mm 2.8 Nikon macro for the Tamron 90mm 2.8 Di macro, and getting the 50mm 1.4 AF version.
