Uploads don't look like originals?

It seem that when I upload to Smugmug the images are lighter and don't have the same color as my originals. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to change the way I upload? I have a MAC if that makes a difference?

What colorspace do your originals have? Are they set to Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB or something else? They should be in sRGB.
