This is the first time I have ever shot basketball. Let me know what you guys think. Most was shot with a 1D Mark IV and 85mm 1.8 and 35L.

The color and the focus look fantastic. Makes me realize just how far off my photos are. :cry Would you mind sharing your settings? I've been shooting BB in portrait mode to get all of their limbs in the frame but looking at your shots I think it might be better to cut off the limbs and focus on the great facial expressions. I think these are great.

Thanks, I was shooting Raw in manual mode at f2.0 and my shutter speed was at 1/800 and my iso was usually at 2500. I did noise reduction in Nik Define 2.0 and just made minor changes in saturation so the colors whould pop more.

Nice colors, consistent WB, sharp! Some good expressions as well. I'd try to get some more full length shots, not chopping off the legs for at least some of the shots (vertical dribbling up the court, etc.). Otherwise these look great! :D

I shot a HS tourney back in December, and that was my first time shooting BB as well. I'll have to post some shots for critique...

I tried to get some with full body but the 35L close to the basket wasn't wide enough. Thanks for the comments. I can't wait to shoot some outside baseball and soccer in a month or so. The 1D mark IV is a beast of a camera !!!!
