Snapped a few shots of some guys in Kauai on our recent trip there. I lucked out and the sun was out for a few minutes. Here are a few of my favorites. Shot with my 80-200 with a 1.4 TC.
What do you think?

I will try it to see what I think. I didn't want to pump the saturation too much but I think it could take a bit more and not get weird.

Looks pretty nice there. I think the picture is too bright and needs more black.
So no one yelled at you for taking pictures of surfing in Kauai? I've heard they're not too keen on people seeing what the surf is really like there (hence it's never in the mags).

To bright? I think I usually don't go bright enough. I will try pumping the black a little and see if I loose all detail in the surfer. But maybe it will help define the water a bit?

Nope, no problems with these guys. 2 of the dudes we were watching, this guy was one of them, were awesome surfers. One guy pulled a 360. It was right as I walked up on the beach before I was shooting. After that no 360s for me! But both of these guys were riding without leashes. And it was pretty thumping shore break too. My girlfriend went and rescued their boards from the rocks a few times. I should have got their emails to send them some shots but, they were out in the water the whole time.

This spot was the nicest looking wave we saw the whole time on the island. It was big shore break. With what looked to be a sand bottom. It had enough power to feel it on shore. Most other areas we saw looked more like east coast Atlantic style waves than the Pacific. But it was wicked windy. I only surfed a few times myself while I was there. Mostly because it was rough as hell in most areas. Lots of confused waves. Kite board guys were ripping around though. They really haul ass.
