Water over the dam

Ten inches of rain in three days can make even a sleepy little dam like this an exciting place. This is the Spicket river in Methuen, Massachusetts. Five exposures at 2 stop intervals run through Photomatix.

    Very Nice
    Great shot, I love it.

Tell me, how does the paid version of Photomatix work compared to the trial version. I tried the trial version and while I liked what it did with the photo's I took, I can't say I liked the UI very well. Maybe i'm just not smart enough to work that kind of stuff because I hated the UI of Adobe PSE and didn't feel like I was working it the right way. ne_nau.gif

    Anyways, great shot!

Thanks for the compliment Lee. The paid version of Photomatix is exactly the same except for not leaving the watermark (which you can remove after receiving a license key). The user interface seems pretty klunky compared to Adobe Photoshop Elements, but the algorithm is what makes it worth more than the modest license fee. You just have to experiment with it and perhaps read a few tutorials like the excellent one here: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-tutorial/

You still need to do post-processing with a program like Photoshop or PSE.
