Compressing pics for upload

I've read in the help section that to upload a gallery faster that I should compress my jpegs to a quality of 7 and then when a client places an order to replace them with a quality of 10. I've already saved all the photos to a high quality of 10 so if I now compress them to 7, won't that mess up the quality when I go back to 10 for printing? I need to upload a gallery ASAP so I'm wanting to upload them properly. Thanks for your help!

Just upload them at quality 10 from the start. That's the easiest. That's what I do. Then, you don't have to replace them when someone orders.

When the advice says to upload at level 7, it doesn't mean to change your originals to level 7. You should NEVER degrade your originals. It means to make a copy of the images that you save at level 7, upload that, then get rid of the local copy.
