PS CS3 Issues with saving...?

So...I have my photos in LR2, I do some minor edits to them there, then export to PS to edit further. I do some edits in CS3, and save it back to LR as a .psd file. Later, I re-export to CS3 the .psd file as original (not editing a copy w/ LR adjustments or copy w/o LR adjustments). I make some adjustments to the original .psd file in CS3. However, and herein lies the problem, when I do CMND+S (to save the .psd file back into LR), I get this little window. I've tried re-starting both CS3 and LR2, repeated the process, and no luck. I've also tried closing everything, re-starting computer, repeating the process, and still no luck.
Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing me not being able to save? This only happens when I re-import a .psd file back into CS3 and do edits, NOT when I am doing first edits to a new .psd file from LR...

You say you "re-export" to CS3. Are you using the LR "Export" function, or using Ctrl+E (the "Edit" function)?
And is the problem you're experiencing a new behavior?

I am using the Ctrl+E ("Edit" function), sorry for the miss wording.
Well, I've just recently started playing with PS, so I couldn't say if it is "new behavior" or not, but it is to me. Actually, I think I opened up a .psd file from LR to PS (again using the "Edit In" Function), and saved it back to LR and it worked fine. Then at one point, (I have my hard drive with my LR catalog and photos on it hooked up wirelessly) my LR wasn't seeing my hard drive when I went to open a photo from LR to edit in PS. PS launched, but the photo never loaded (which is what lead me to find out that LR didn't see my hard drive, so I closed it, re-connected my hard drive, and re-launched LR). After all that, once I did the edit function again from LR to PS, the problem has been happening.
I'm having other issues with PS as well, such as:
-Well to start off, I'm reading Scott Kelby's book on PS CS3 for digital photographers...
He has instructions on how to do many different things in the book. I'll flip to a page, start to follow the directions. They will tell me to select a part of the photo, then go to filter, select a filter and apply it. However twice so far, the option he wants me to select is grayed out and it won't let me select it. Can't figure out why...
Thank you for the help.
