I am a standard user of smugmug.
I am thinking of going Power, but I am not sure if its worth the extra 20.
Could some power users show me their pages, so that I can make the decision.
Basically I am interested in the following features
1. Own domain name - Is it possible that I set up a subdomain like photogallery.mydomain.com and this shows up the smugmug gallery
If I link to a pic there, what will be the link. will it be
http://tanveer.smugmug.com/blahblah/blah.jpg or http://photogallery.mydomain.com/blahblah/blah.jpg?
2. Custom page styles - Want to see some custom styles. What do they look like, what all can we do. How much CSS knowledge is needed etc.,
3. What other stuff is possible?

BUMP! Alternatively can somebody point me a HOWTO or WIKI which tells me what all I can do with Power user, and how can I do that, and what are the skill sets needed?

With power, you can configure your own domain name and that is all anyone will ever see on your site, including photo links.

There are zillions of ways you can customize on the power account. Go here and watch the slideshow and you'll see a bunch.

As for the level of knowledge, I'd say it's kind of like a lot of things. Simple things are fairly simple and there are tutorials for many of them (adding a navbar, a banner, a slideshow, etc...). More complex things require some design skill and more HTML/CSS knowledge or someone who can ask really good questions and following directions given in the dgrin customizing forum.

Look at the sticky threads at the top of the customizing forum for places to start on how you customize.

Because you can supply your own javascript, CSS and HTML, a lot is possible. Some people build their own web-pages from scratch. Others customize the heck out of an existing Smugmug page. Others just add a homepage design and make a few tweaks to the gallery pages. It's really up to you.
