I won't let her touch my DSLR. her old P&S is about dead.
Question for the board members........ Any recommondations? (or what to stay away from)
Best flash is what we need. I've found most p&s take decent quality outdoors.

Would like to keep it under $200 usd.

Cheers,

    Thanks
    Thanks....She really doesn't want a DSLR...something small and easy.
I realize you normally get what you pay for, Just thought I'd ask, sometimes, somebody will say "I have a xyz camera and it broke after 2 weeks and this and that is terrible".....just trying to stay away from the "bad ones"...if there are any on the market!

As a woman I feel for her that the first thing you say is that you won't let her touch your DSLR. You have a DSLR but you are looking to spend under $200 for something for her!

that was kinda my thought ...

I do like the Fuji and Canon point and shoots if that is any help. My Canon G10 has been dropped and usually rides in the tank bag of my motorcycle and is a great little camera.

I'm a big panasonic fan lately, as my LX3 is fantastic, and my sister-in-law`s TZ5 delivers nice quality as well. The ZR1 is around 200 and well specified, small. Has been replaced by the ZR3 now, but you may still find a ZR1.

The G9 or G10 Canon are great cameras. About double your quoted budget though.

    Maybe an S90?

I have a Fugifilm Finepx J250 PS that I call my pocket camera I take it everywhere. It has a 3" screen, 10 MP and 5x zoom I paid less than $150 for it. Most of the pictures in these galleries were taken with this camera but not all of them. I liked the Polorid I had better but only because it fit into my pants pocket better. Other than that I have been real happy with it.

sorry folks, That sounds harsh about not letting my Mrs. touch ny DSLR...Actually, she's quite intimitated by it. so it's a mutual thing...
Besides, she wants "her own" for her use.

    Thanks for the tips.

    Much appreciatedthumb.gif
