Just for fun, some shots from the circus last night. I totally love the way the black and white ones look like the olden day circus...not sure how to explain it. Anyway it was a good time!

    Hi Melissa,
    LOVE your monochrome shots! clap.gif

My two favorites are #1 (I get why it's a favorite of yours--I like how you can see a little bit of the crowd with the spotlight and the position of trapeze artist and her shadow)

#5 is my second favorite love the comp, texture and light.

    Great series.

Thanks liz! i actually thought about you when I posted these, somehow i knew you'd like them :D

I liked 5 a lot too but wasn't sure if it was just me. and you're right about 1, i sat and waited for the shadow and spotlight to pop up like that. So glad I got it!

Nice shots!!! Agree the B/W are really sweet.
When I saw the title, I was expecting children, though....:D

1st one is my fav as well and I can tell you why!

    1) can't see the crowd at all except for the spotlight illuminating the crowd! dramatic!

    2) the nice shadow of the performer cast by the spotlight! dramatic!

    3) finally the dramatic pose of the performer him/herself!

nice capture meliissa. clap.gif could use a crop perhaps

    14-24 24-70 70-200mm (vr2)
    85 and 50 1.4

    Nicely done Melissa. thumb.gif

The black and white conversion really give this series a dramatic feel - something I don't get with your color versions. Something about that monochromatic look reminds me of vintage postcards.

My only suggestion would be an ever so slight crop on #1.

    Thanks for sharing. clap.gif

    I really like #1.

The shot of the elephant eating the lady in #8 is kinda gross. Hope she was okay. :D
