Something about her face made me reluctant to look at her for very long but everyone has very interesting footwork on the crosswalk. I used the top of my monitor to chop her off at the waist and really liked the lower half of this shot.

    Thanks Richard,
I confess to cropping quite a bit on this one, but I do so like the final outcome.

    Hello senorjax,

I was attracted to the look on her face actually. It was St. Patrick's Day and she was across the street from a gathering of men in kilts. To me she looked like a young woman trying really hard to look cool (my take anyway, maybe she was cool rolleyes1.gif ).

i looked at the photo cropped and guess what? I like the way the feet look as well (from the waste down). It's funny because the title would still apply.

Thanks for commenting and welcome to Dgrin.

I tried the lower half crop and liked it best cropper just above her bust so that the relaxed pose of the hand with the cigarette is still visible.

I'm not digging the processing so much. But the alternative crop ideas work because the whole image does. Well done.

I like this picture a lot. I'd drop the title, though. To me it suggests that the young woman is intentionally posing for the passing crowd. I see her relaxed in thought and oblivious to the people around her. But, given the title, I keep trying to see her stance as a conscious pose.

Still finding my way with the processing.

I'm glad the image itself works though. Thanks :)

    Hi Virginia,
That's how I saw her--as a young woman posing and playing it cool--
BUT since you shared your take on the shot, it got me thinking about MC7!!! I'm thinking about entering this shot now. I'm so glad you mentioned the title and what the image says to you. Thank you Virginia:) It's still probably a stretch for the challenge though rolleyes1.gif .

To me, what makes the image is the "I'm a cool chick" body language, and the full body shot is necessary for the image.

And, yes, I know that people that age don't use "chick" anymore.

Tony, I think the body language is still very much there without having to see her head in the shot but that's just me.

    Now they use "chicka" :D
