Nearly to Portland. Getting dark and starting to rain. Pictures? Why not see.
By the time I got to the bridge its was really dark and the rain was coming on
strong. Strange I was the only one there on this Friday night. Not even some
lovers needing some privacy. :wink
Some small lights under the bridge and huge sodium vapor to the far right.
Just perfect... I gave it a shot anyway.
All handheld. Wasn't in the mood to break out my tripod or umbrella. Should have.
I was drenched and freezing when I finished up.
1600 ISO. 30D. 10-20mm Sigma. f 5. 1/15 sec. Manual.
Some pics that seemed to come out ok.
Huge mural on the whole first column. Pretty sweet.

I've never seen art work so nice on a bridge before. You did a good job hand holding in the rain. Beautiful lighting on the first photo

These are stunning and after reading the story it doubles how well you did,
what beautiful murals, wonder how many folks pass over that Bridge and never have a clue what they've missed.
I'd sure say all your discomfort and getting wet really paid off!!
Very nicely done!!!

Thanks Mary. I have found that in the state of Oregon there are many
many towns that have gone out of their collective way to have various
types of murals painted on a variety of buildings. For the most part these
folks really care about where they live and how it looks.
Of course there towns all over the planet that care whats going on in them.
This is a very nice set, and the standouts for me are the first and last images. It took me a moment to "decide" that #1 was not HDR The last one, all soft and grainy, has an old-tyme feeling to it that I really dig.

I missed an artist or artists signature but
I believe I will have to place a call to the local chamber of commerce
there and see if I can find out. I must place credit where credit is due.

distinct in PP but they did. Is that color to the BW second up from the
bottom as pink on your monitor as I have seen it on a friends monitor.
It looked awful on his an ok on mine.
Its probably a given that many many folks have no idea that artwork is
there when they pass by or over the bridge. I can tell you it was the case
for us and it was only on this stop that I have ever seen it. Maybe its new
cause I know I have eaten a couple of times at the diner not 300 yards
away.
Thanks again Craig.
Looks OK on mine--somewhere between sepia and peach.
Thank you Richard.
I too have always loved what I have found in Oregon and could easily
live there. But since it is just a short trip next door....
HDR. Does kinda look it but heavens no. No way I could have pulled that
off handheld. What ever paint they used was just so capable of taking
the saturation push.
Also, I thank you for the comment on the final BW. I was pleased with
that result after being pretty critical of it because I know I am not so
hot at BW conversions. But I sure hope to get there.
Thx. Michael
