Daffodils - Sign of Spring

Spring has finally arrived, and it couldn't be soon enough. I had about 15 minutes after getting home from work tonight to cut a couple daffodils, set up, and snap a few shots before the sun went down. Both were taken using light through the window of our front door with a silver reflector opposite.

These are my first flower attempts with the Carl Zeiss 35mm Distagon. They were 3.2 and 5 seconds respectively at f/14 and ISO 200. Comments and critique welcomed.

nice work, those are really sharp, what did you use for a background?

It's a piece of black felt cloth draped over a chair. I need to construct a better background holder so i can adjust it more easily. :D

I'm amazed at the sharpness of the Zeiss lens. The minimum focusing distance doesn't allow me to get as close as my Canon 100mm macro, but the fine textures come across better.
