"The Brown Sisters" by Nicholas Nixon
I visited the Dutch Photo Museum in Rotterdam recently.
Among some exhibitions and photographs that didn't really do it for me, they had the "Nicholas Nixon: The Brown Sisters 1975-2009" exhibition that I really did like, including the 2009 premier; Nixon started in 1975 photographing his wife Bebe and her three sisters every year, once a year. Always in the same order; Heather, Mimi, Bebe, Laurie.
This is an ongoing series.
See more of the images, here, and some more info from the National Gallery of Art, here.
Besides the photographs themselves being interesting, I found it really interesting to see the history and change of these women. The collection was quite impressive, actually, for some reason.
I tried to find an exhibition schedule for it, but couldn't locate one.
If you happen to see the exhibition close to you, I would recommend it :thumb
What do you think? Anyone else that has seen these?
