I would like to get some feedback from others who are using both smugmug and a blog. My purpose for the blog is solely to have chronological order of when my albums were done. I am shooting family pics 99% of the time and when relatives are viewing my site it is easier for them to see the blog instead of go to the smugmug site and shuffle through my categories to see something new.

If there is an easier way to do this within smugmug by all means let me know ( my site www.justinpkaplan.com ).

Here is my current workflow- Import pics from mostly D300 or sometimes compact/iphone..., edit it lightroom (shoot raw), upload to smugmug, then use the custom HTML I have learned form folks on dgrin to put on Blogger.

Again, my main purpose as you will see from the blog is to just have everything in chronological order. This does take quite a bit of time though happy with the end result just wish easier.

All feedback is welcome, than you!!!

Could you set up the blog to automatically display the "Recent galleries" RSS feed?

How would this work and would I be able to have the same look as my current blog?

I'm afraid that that is a Blogger question - whether or not you can import an RSS feed into your blog.

If so, then you will be able to maintain the exact same look/feel as the rest of your blog. The RSS feed contains details of your new albums, so every time you created (or made public) an album, Smugmug would publish the details to your RSS feed, and Blogger would import it.

I guess the only issue with this is, I wouldn't have the slideshow for the albums, also the video would not be embedded on the blog page as I have it now.

I wish Smugmug had a blog template!
