We don't have FIOS yet either. Our exchange was one of the last in the country to switch from mechanic step and repeat to electronic so I'm not all that hopeful it will happen soon. :cry

    O'hare airport today...

Back home I have Comcast, which isn't too bad. Our town is one of several Colorado communities trying to get the new Google Fiber, that would rock!

Nik, I've been waiting for Verizon FiOS to come to my neighborhood. How much do you pay for your new warp speed?

    Fios to local:

    Why such a large differance?

PS: Dammit Nick, now I am looking at 35/35.......!

35/35 came out to be $106/mo
20/20 was $75/mo or so, I decided that 75% speed improvement worth $30/mo

I, uh... don't know what that means. ne_nau.gif I imagine we have some hugely fast connection from work, since we have so much traffic going on.

Here's home, a little less impressive.

I have similar results; Although there are better, I have to say that in general I'm quite happy with the speed. I have actually never measured this until now, so I'm not sure if this is consistent, but it feels like that.

I'm with you on this one. Unfortunately, what we have is considered dial-up in the FiOS world.:cry

Jeez that's expensive! Is it the high upstream you're paying for? I can get 100/10 for like $15.

    I second the question.
Yes, I'm paying $107 for 35/35 to get a high upload speed.
I know there is something like 50/50 Fios deal, but that gets into $200..$300 area :cry
If there is a way to get */100 (mbps) for $50 - here in my area - I would be the in 1/8,000 sec. deal.gifrolleyes1.gif

Oh sorry, I'm a bit further away, Sweden. Sorry for making it seem like I had a deal for you all. :(:

I was just stunned by the difference in price...

    Gotcha.
Well, I was told that in Mexico they pay $900(!)/mo for the dialup + extra for traffic....eek7.gif

I'm on Optimum's DOCSIS (they call it Optimum Ultra)

100 Mb/s down, up to 15 Mb/s up. When I ping local servers here in NY area, I always get that. Usually my speed to SmugMug's http://smugmug.speedtest.net has given me roughly 5-6 Mb/s upload. I was pleasantly surprised to see this today:
