Hydra 2.2: Your experience?

So MacUpdate is running a pretty good promo right now, and I'm thinking of plunking down the $50 just to get Parallels 5.0. One of the other apps they are bundling is Hydra 2.2.

I searched Dgrin to see what other people had to say about Hydra, but the two threads that turned up are from a year and two years ago. So I was wondering if anyone had used Hydra 2.2 on the Mac, and if so, what your experience was and if you would recommend it to someone who is just starting out with HDR?

The software I use most (nearly exclusively) in my workflow is Aperture 3, and I've got a mid-'08 MBP, 2.6GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 7200rpm HD.

I have not used Hydra. I generally prefer exposure fusion over most HDR tone mapping methods -

Windows (or Linux) on Intel Mac - over and above Apple Bootcamp:

Whenever virtual machines are mentioned, the two big commercial apps are usually noted -

While another different approach to a VM is "Crossover" -

Back to virtual machines - there is a third option instead of running "Parallels" or "Fusion". It is a free offering from Sun, "Virtual Box" -

They also have a pay version that offers more features and better performance that may make it more of a contender against the other commercial virtual machines.
