So, here is the official gallery to give your C&C for DSS Mega-Challenge #7

Gallery Here...

Once more into the fray. This unofficial feedback thread is a catch-all of sorts, lets make it happen:thumb

Anyway, let's start feedback on DSS Mega-Challenge #7!!

This thread is:
  • a place to post a list of your top ten favorites. (be heard, and let everyone know what images moved you.)
  • a place to post your "the making of my image"
  • a place to ask someone "how did they do that?"(for us all to see:D )
Feedback is an important part of the photographic process. While those selected as finalists get feedback from the judges and those who vote, others are never quite sure where they stand. So share your thoughts both in this thread and with comments in the actual gallery. Constructive criticism should always be welcome.

It's easy to post thumbnails (with help from our Moderator).

With the image selected in the gallery, copy its URL from your browser, add "-Th.jpg" to the end, delete the jumble of numbers and letters preceding the hashtag (#), change "gallery" to "photos" and that's it.

Example

Change this url

[URL="http://challenges.smugmug.com/Other/DSS-44/11173146_XPbWE#784726765_MXFDd"]http://challenges.smugmug.com/Other/...84726765_MXFDd[/URL]

To this (minus the space in the IMG tags)

[URL="http://challenges.smugmug.com/photos...5_MXFDd-Th.jpg"]http://challenges.smugmug.com/photos...5_MXFDd-Th.jpg[/URL]

Happy Feedbacking :scratch

    I've left feedback in the galleries. Poetry interps are definitely challenging.

    I also thought I'd show you a slightly more "modern" interpretation of my image, courtesy of my 4 year old son. (taken as I was prepping for the final version.)

    Yes, that's a real cabbage leaf. Don't ask.

    And one last thought: in my mind I kind of wish that Yeats had written a sequel to this poem. I imagine the first line would be "What's the fastest way to Dublin, man?/ Turns out I'm allergic to bees!" :D

    I really love what you did with this image, something I could only dream about doing (for now anyway)... and it's funny, because when I saw it in the gallery before looking at the user name, I immediately thought it was yours....so, why the alias?

    Thanks Karin,
    Reallyreallyreally lightroom makes it so easy it should be a crime. Just move this slider and that slider, trial-n-error, squint eyes and repeat as necessary. Fwiw, I feel as you discribed with composite entries.... I just marvel at some of the images here at DSS...! But anyway a little practice with mask/brush tools and you will see they are fun to work with....
    my alias? thats a reallyreally long story...

    Yes.. Very nicely done!! That sure is weird how the viewfinder created that exposure difference. Not sure I've ever seen that before. Noted! Awesome Image! Thanks for the behind the scenes look.. always helps!
