I really need to learn about stacking and getting closer. I love the shots that Lord V & Phil do. Hopefully one day I can do half as good.

good idea spraying water on it - good touch. Can you get the eyes in focus?
Actually it was raining. I took a few shots, handheld. I think I was more focused on the water drops than the eyes. oops. This is another one that the head looks a little more in focus.

Thank you guys and John, I so know what your wife means. I really don't care for spiders but I do make myself look at the pictures. I am getting better and actually have been taking pictures of them.
Nicely done. There's nothing wrong per se with choosing to make the water drops the focus of the shot over the head of the animal, I think, as long as you're framing with that in mind -- it can suggest a different situation and therefore a different composition. Whatever feels right and catches your eye in the scene.
