So I have my first coffee shop exhibit coming up :barb

Had a few sort of technical questions for those with experience...

1) What is your preferred methods for the 'info' cards with each print? I am thinking of something very sharp & modern but not sure where/how to get card stock to do it.

2) Do you show up with mounting hardware or presume the coffee shop is ready for you? I would assume I should bring my own just in case.

3) I assume you leave lots of business cards too?

I think that is it for now, I am going to do a mix of canvas prints and a couple of framed prints I think. Maybe even one of those fancy fotoflot thingies!

I buy heavy quality cardstock at the stationery store and run it through my own printer.

Absolutely take your own - for a few reasons. First, the coffee shop probably WON'T have any; second, if they do, it may not be strong enough to hold your work safely if there's any weight involved.

Yes - if possible with the pictures and definitely at the check-out area.

Lots of luck - let us know how you make out.

Thanks so much for the reply! I am going to try the card stock method with home printing. I am also going try to make a layout in Illustrator then print it, should hopefully be nice & sharp :)

Ok I give up, what is even the proper terminology or name of these 'info cards'. I tried the ol' Google but it has failed me. Trying to find some examples and inspiration for my design. I know it is fairly straight foward what to include, but would like to see some others.

    I plan to include...

    -title
    -brief description
    -location/date
    -my info

    Anything else?

I don't know what they're called either. The basic info. is all you need to put on - as you described it.

Any art galleries in your area? You could always go and look at how they do it.

Nothing to contribute to the thread, just ... Congratulations! I also see you're in Boulder ... what coffee shop will this be? I don't drink coffee, but if I'm around I may stop in to look. :)

    Blank Avery Business Cards
You can go to Staples/Office Depot and buy black laser business cards.
In Microsoft Word you can create Lables/envelopes and find the form number of the business card. Then you can print on a sheet for your template and you can put the contact info and price info on the card in any font that works.

If you want them a bit larger, they sell a post card or a shipping label.
