A few images of Mergansers that are still around, but not for long as they should be heading north very soon.

Be honest - do you sharpen them in PS? They're just so hyper-sharp, it's hard to imagine you could get them that spot-on right out of the camera.

Thank you for your comments and I agree with you that the angle is neat on that last image. It was fun to photograph these birds.

Thank you very much Pat for the compliments on this series. These are just amazing birds and really a joy to photograph them, and I hope to go back there soon to have another go.

Hi Deb, thanks for the compliments and I have to agree that I love that shot as well, close to the water as you mentioned and the angle turned out well.

Rick, I use RAW and all the images are sharpened a tad in PS. Thanks for the comments on this series

Thank you for the comments, and yes these birds tends to fly low to the water and when they come around the corner they just zing by you like a speed bullet. I found that you really need to scan in every direction as these guys come up fast on you.

Thanks Glenn, I was happy with them all on how they turned out.

Thank you Kelly, I think that is my favorite as well, just like the low wings near the water and that angle seems to do it for me.

Thank you very very much for the compliments on these images and my panning skills. This is some thing that I practice a lot when things are slow out in the field.

The angle on the first one is most pleasing to me.:D
Thanks Ric for the comments, and I like the one you picked second and the second one is the one that I like the best, funny how that goes.
