It was a crapy day so i didnt even bring out my camera for the first few hours but then i decided to go grab it and make the best of a bad situation.

Here is what I ended up with. Any feedback would be wonderful and if anyone has any ideas on how to fix up the tiger shot i would be intrested. I havnt spent much time on it but i know it needs a little somthing. Thank you.

I think the tiger is a great shot but it is soft. And I think the colors are sort of dull, but I think I tend to oversaturate some times so I may be wrong about that. You could try using the unsharp mask to sharpen the tiger but again, I'm not very good at that either. There are a bunch of sharpening tips on here if you do a search.

Could you post your exif? I'm just curious what range people take zoo pics with.

I like the polar bear :D

    Great shot on the penguin.
Did you convert it to B&W ?

The last picture is slightly underexposed. You can use level or curve to brighten it up a bit.

Yes the penguin is converted in photoshop. I think its a little bright but I would like to print it (which i have not have time to do) before I change anything.

I havnt done anything with the last one yet. but thats where i will start bringing it out a little bit. Thank you for your imput.

Ah, the tiger was only shot at 1/30th. I'm guessing you were hand holding and that is why it is soo soft. Maybe try a monopod or tripod next time. I bet with a tripod that pictures would have been sharp except the tongue would have been slightly blurred because it was moving, showing action. IMHO

The shot was also taken through tinted glass, I think that may have somthing to do with it. Thanks for the advce about the tripod. Will have to pick one of those up.

You could ask Windoze what he uses at the zoo. He seems to like shooting there, especially the [thread=4764]Tigers[/thread]. As for a tripod, I recently got Gitzo 1228 legs with a Manfroto 322RC2 pistol grip ball head, and I love it but it is kinda pricey. I would definitly do a search under Accesories before you buy anything. Ian has a lot of good input on tripods. Good luck!
