I read that Canon did not put 720p into the 2.0.4 firmware because at 60fps it was not good. Then why couldn't they put in 720p at 24fps?

If the camera can do 1080p at 24fps, 720p at 24fps should be possible.

Not sure, but there is no 720p at all now. You could down-sample 1080 if you need it?

I just find it disappointing that Canon didn't even consider 720p@24fps.

Wildly guessing here, but I think it could have to do with marketing. Making each model appeal to its respective target customer.

I am thinking because Nikon has 720p@24fps, Canon would not.
