I went to the Antique Boat show in Tavares, Florida earlier today where some car people also gathered. This 1947 Nash Suburban woodie was on exhibit.
Last week it may have been photographed by Tom (Black Mamba) at the Amelia Island show.

Here's a side view of it with some of the other woodies in the background:

I took the long way home and swung through Eustis, Florida and they had a car show also. This 1948 Lincoln Continental caught my eye. That's a 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500k behind it.

I chatted with the owner of the Lincoln Continental. He's not one of those check-book classic car owners...he bought it in 1962 and has kept it up himself.

    Hey Tony,

You snagged some good car shots....particularly that Nash woodie. I don't remember if I shot that one up at Amelia, but I don't think so. There are a few things that look a little odd about that Mercedes 500 K, the top being the most noticeable one. I've never seen anything like that on a 500 K before. It almost looks like a kit car piece. Strange.

I wish I'd gone to the boat show.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

The show extends until tomorrow (Sunday). You still have time. Lots of wooden boats...some really nice stuff. It's a really big show for the antique boat enthusiasts.

The website http://www.acbs-sunnyland.com/show/index_show_2010.htm says $5 admission, but no one asked me for anything.

The Mercedes-Benz could be a kit car. I didn't really pay any attention to it other than it was in the background of my shot. That show was just Saturday.

Here's a 1941 Plymouth woodie that was at the show.

Very nice. These old woodies are nothing but money in the bank.
