Print Prices Don't Show Up

When I click Buy->This Photo (as a Visitor) on my SmugMug Pro site, the prices for the Prints sometimes don't show up. If I click on the Merchandise tab, then back on the Prints tab, the prices appear. This occurs on my site as well as a friend's SmugMug Pro site. It happens two different computers, in Windows XP as well as Windows Vista. Clearing the cache does not fix the problem.

I've contacted the SmugMug "Heroes" about this and the answer is always "clear the cache" or "we can't do anything about it since it is intermittent, though we've seen it before" or "we haven't had many complaints about this." I'm still seeing this problem and I would like to put this on the forum to see if others are seeing this. If there are enough readers who have also experienced this, maybe it can be addressed by the SmugMug web programmers.

If potential customers are also having the problem of not seeing prices, then I, as well as others, could be losing sales.

Thanks to all for your consideration of this matter.

Hi, can you give me a ticket#, and also your site name, and the gallery this is happening in? This is absolutely not acceptable and I will make sure we get to the bottom of it. I looked at the last four issues you wrote us about and couldn't find one on this subject. Maybe you sent from a different email address, though.

Got your PM with the gallery. http://www.leonspringsphotography.com/Portraits/Champion-High-School-Swim-Team/11285762_yk2Dt#791888502_767wG does it happen still now? I just added every photo to my cart no problem, using Win XP IE6, and Win7 IE8. I was able to see all prices on all tabs.

I have to run out for a couple hours but I'll be back.

Here's another SmugMug site where I saw the problem: http://www.ralphmawyerphotography.com/Sports/Soccer-2010/Soccer-Boerne-Clemens-2010/11155278_GzcHs#782694844_d2EDD

    Update
I was able to replicate the problem on Windows Vista SP2 with both IE8 and Firefox 3.6, although it seems to happen less on IE8.

It also happened on IE8 with WinXP SP3.

It seems to happen more if you work your way through from the main page than if you link directly into the gallery, though I see it both ways.

What I really would like to know is if others have experienced this problem. It's hard to believe it is only me. Anyone else seen this?

I've seen this problem once or twice in the last few months in Firefox (and I don't even go to Buy This Photo very often), but it is not currently happening for me now on either of the two galleries you provided.

Hi Smooth, I am the bug hunter for SmugMug. Can you tell me if you are seeing this while logged out, or using the visitor view mode?

I am not seeing it either but I need to figure out how to replicate the problem so that we can get it fixed.

I'm also experiencing this problem. I tried setting prices from the Portfolio and Gallery level and prices are not set. I am running Windows Vista v. 6.0 (Build 6002: SP 2). Also, I tried setting prices using Firefox v. 3.6.2 and IE8 v. 8.0.6001.1882. I went in from the Visitor's View - no pricing and, therefore, when I click to buy the photo I see "Sorry, this photo has no products available for purchase." Lastly, I accessed my site as a visitor from another laptop and was met with no pricing. This is happening with all of my galleries.

    Thank you in advance!

Another thing I noticed. The site will accept pricing and display it if entered for a specific size/type. For example, 4x6 Glossy at the Gallery level; however, if I enter this price for that size/type at the Portfolio level the price to the buyer is still zero and, as a result, there are no products available to purchase. Also, if I select the Portfolio level and attempt to add a dollar increase ($2.00, for example) for All Products rather than adding that increase to the cost for all of the products it simply enters $2.00 as the price for all of the products.

Can I get both of you to contact me via the help desk with links to your sites and links to the gallery where you are seeing this behavior. I need to take a look and see what might be going on. Be sure to put attention doc and reference this post so that I know what to look for.

Please remember when you check your pricing logged in that the customers price is shown under the item description. A lot of folks actually miss that. I just wanted to make sure you were looking in the right place.

    When Problem Occurs
    Hi doc,

Sorry I was so long replying. The problem occurs whether I am in Visitor View or logged out. It doesn't happen on every photo, but if I just keep clicking on random photos, it will eventually occur. I usually don't have to click on more that ten photos (Buy->This Photo each time) before the window that pops up doesn't show any prices.
