Flooded forest

This is a pond created by the work of beavers. Had to crawl through and over some bushes to get to this, but I really wanted the parallel lines of the downed tree and rocks (the top of a rock wall that now spans the pond) to pair with the line created by the trees and sky. Sepia conversion emphasizes the geometry -



This second photo was taken not far from the first. The sun had crested the hill and brought up more color in the sky. Plus this gnarled old tree with its marvelous roots was the perfect foreground. It could use with a little more close focus, so maybe on another trip I'll remember.
