Photo size limits & resizing

Yesterday I shot a prom. I uploaded about 100 pics. Today the parents are trying to buy them and all the photos are too small to even print a 4x6! I have been using SMugMug for months as a pro, no issues.

I tried deleting 4 galleries with over 600 photos but when i upload even one shot it is too small.

has anyone had this problem what can I do?
I am losing sales with every minute that goes buy. I have 50+ parents trying to buy.

Thanks!

We allow giant originals - 24megabytes for pros, and 48megapixel files.

You must be uploading small files - we don't recommend that, since you won't be able to have folks order prints. Upload your full-resolution files and then all items can be priced and bought.

and here's our minimum resolution for prints: http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-quality

My originals are huge, my upload settings are set t"Original" from Aperture. I've been doing this for months with out issue. I even tried uploading "50% of original size"

Hi Paula, yes indeed I am. Standby, and no need for further emails to the help desk, or tweets (which I answered all). Thanks.

Paula, you uploaded small filed, not the original dimensions.

Perhaps you set your Aperture plugin to make small versions.

Reupload the original sized files, and all will be fine.

I'm really sorry, Paula - but the original, uploaded file is only 640pixels on the long side - which is what was uploaded to us:

Perhaps your Aperture plugin is not behaving like it should? Try uploading using MacDaddy or using our in-browser Simple Uploader.

    no go tried aperture again

also found a file on my desktop and used the plain add photos option... both resulted in tiny files

Paula-- I don't know what's happening but Aperture is not exporting your original size file, that's the problem. Try resetting things perhaps, in your aperture preferences (I don't use Aperture, I use Photoshop & Lightroom).

But the reason for the problem is that you are not sending originals sized files to SmugMug - you're sending small files - which Aperture seems to be creating for you.

I just fired up Aperture, and used ApertureToSmugMug plugin to upload a file, the original sized file uploaded just fine. I'm sorry I don't know exactly what's wrong on your end - have you triple-checked your settings? ear.gif
