Hello. I have been reading the Digital Grin Forum for many months and finally decided to sign up and share some photos. I have learned a lot reading suggestions from many of you on this forum.

Last year I started a sports photography business with a Rebel XT and kit lenses. I have since purchased the Canon 50d and am now the proud owner of a 70-200mm 2.8 non-IS lens. I love it and believe my picture quality has already improved a lot.

I recently tried out this new lens on some baseball games and would like to get some advice, input, critiques, etc. on my photos. Thanks for taking the time to look. (I hope the photos upload correctly).

I can't really help with the technical side being a noob myself but the colors look a bit washed out. Are you doing any post processing?

Thanks for the imput. I am using the thee Adobe Lightroom Beta. On the first photo in particular I reduced the shadows to show his face better. Instead of spot dodging, i did the entire photo. I guess I may have tried not to saturate too much and instead they look washed out.

Recommended post processing tips for dealing with shadows would be appreciated.

Congratulations on the new gear. A couple pics look like you are above the players, that is not a great angle. Are you shooting at 2.8? I would think you would have more background blurr. Other than that looking good, keep clicking

Yes, I'd say they are a little flat. Try adjusting your contrast as well as your levels.

Thanks for th input. Regarding some of the angles, I had to stand on a ladder because the backstops and dugouts are all wood, making me have to get above the walls. All shots were done through chain link fencing. I will work on the contrast. I thought I was almost too saturated when i was looking at the photos on my MAC.

Thanks GadgetRick. I guess I am afraid of over-saturating photos. How is this in comparison to the last entry?

I like your improvements you've made in the past few sets!
I guess you could always try things like slowing down the shutter and getting a little bit of motion blur....
or just do it in photoshop and make it look like you did it on location.. :p
