Smug Issue, GoDaddy Issue, or My Issue???

For as long as my Smug site as been up (almost 2 years, I think) I have had my domain and business email through GoDaddy (www.OhSnapPhotos-NC.com and Becki@OhSnapPhotos-NC.com). I have linked my personalized email to my Google/gmail account for ease of access for me. As far as I know, the entire time I have had this site and used this email I have had problems with my emails not being delivered to clients' inboxes. They are being sent to Spam - and never seen - or not received at all. This is not every client or every time to specific clients and does not even seem to be specific domains (ie, hotmail, yahoo, etc.) :scratch
Today I spoke with a former client via telephone who was calling because he had sent me an email last week and I had not responded. I always check my Spam folders to ensure that the contents are actually junk and I've gone back through my Spam and Trash folders for the past month to see if I overlooked his email. I can't find it and am assuming I never got it.
This makes me wonder if now there are problems not only with me sending, but also receiving emails through my personalized address. :dunno
I don't think this could in any way be a SmugMug issue, but I know lots of folks here also use GoDaddy so I was wondering if anyone else had had these or similar issues. I really don't want to lose my personalized address, but if it means I'm losing business or giving myself a bad reputation for not contacting/responding to clients, it's well worth a change to another address.
