Is the Markins M20 too much...

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]...for a Gitzo 2541 tripod?
I have been going back and forth between buying the M20 and the M10.
For me the weight difference is negligible, the price difference is only $40.00,
and I don't want to have to buy the M20 later if my lens weights go up in the future.
Longest/heaviest lens currently being used is the 70-200 IS 2.8 on a 5D with battery grip.
My concern is that the base of the M20 might be too wide for the tripod where they screw together. Would this prove to be unwieldy, or feel off balance? Would I be better off with the M10?
Anybody have an informed opinion about this?
Thanks in advance for any responses,
