    I don't think Berkeley ever left the 1960's. rolleyes1.gif

    It looks like there's an arrest underway or at least a citation being issued. Interesting images.

    People's Park is a strong symbol of the protests of the '60s. Some of the most violent clashes between protesters and police occurred here. It is still a battleground between the University of California Regents and the community activists that abound there.

    In the first photo a guy is in cuffs. After they decided to issue him a citation instead (for public drinking), he figured he might as well chug the rest of his beverage (#2).

    The park is still a magnet for many homeless and many former activists.
