    Nice!

How about, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

Can you post a smaller version, so I can take in all of it at once? It may be better cropped a bit, but I can't tell with this large version alone.

Pic looks nice with good b&w conversion, BUT the photo does not speak for itself relative to the challenge. It would not be strong on theme without the title.

oh thanks! well i'm pretty much a purists meaning i don't do much editing, especially cropping. i think it's better to leave the pic as pure as it is. just my opinion.
and it is the actual black and white pic, i don't have the color version of it heh.

title: "beginning of a seemingly long journey"?

    any other constructive criticism?

A nice shot but agree with rainbow that without the right title I don't think it is overly strong on theme.

Like you I was averse to cropping & pp but I have learnt to use the techniques available to improve the images I take. I love SOOC challenges but I am no longer averse to modifying what the camera captured to more closely match what I saw.

I this case I feel that the main elements of the image are too centred vertically (the horizon is almost bang on mid-frame) and would consider cropping some of the sky to give the important elements a larger proportion of the frame.

    A definite improvement imho.
This crop makes the road & hence the journey the prominent element of the image.
