This was my first idea. I got one comment, so I am guessing its not resonating?

I see a few entries already have hit a few of my other ideas....nice job btw!!

These are probably the only other choices I can offer in this time frame, as we are traveling tomorrow night and I have to work and visit MIL in hospital during my 'free' time....

Do they work? Are the edits good or do they need something?

Of your new images I like #1, but I'd like to see more rail track leading me into the image, have you got one from as far back as #2 but with the view of #1?
The trees seem a bit soft and the tracks & brush on the left a tad over saturated but that could just be personal choice, my monitor or just the size of the image posted.

#2 has too much dead ground in the lower right imho and the tracks don't lead me in.

#3 doesn't do anything for me.
The original image doesn't speak to the theme for me but hey its your interpretation not mine that counts right.
