rotation issue

This is new.... When I upload an image that has been rotated to portrait orientation, it displays as landscape. Tried it three times, same result. I use the Simple Uploader.

The first time, I just scratched my head in bafflement and rotated it correctly using Picnik. But then I uploaded the same image to a different gallery and it is not the correct rotation:

Then I uploaded a B&W version (same image, different file name) to another gallery and it too is not rotated properly:

Also, it appears that the Simple Uploader was scanning or uploading every image twice. It appears to upload the first time, but then a yellow alert button appears in the upload window next to the file, and the upload progress meter runs through a second time. This is on all images, not just the one with rotation issues.

I will leave them unrotated until someone takes a look at them, but I don't really want to leave them that way too long.

BTW, the images ARE rotated correctly on my hard drive. This is not OHS (though I'm not immune to it)!

I get a bad icc profile embedded error message when I open that file in photoshop.

Do you have another file you can link me to that I can try? Maybe your camera is not set to auto-rotate the image in this mode?

Hi Andy. I've never had auto-rotate enabled in any of my cameras. This image was from an older P&S, a Canon S70.

Before you go to any trouble, I'll try rotating and uploading a couple of other photos, in case it is this particular photo with the problem.

I'll get back to you shortly!

Well, Andy, it seems to be only that one photo. ne_nau.gif

I won't sweat it. Thanks for helping out!
