I like this one a lot. Processing is to my taste with great skin tones and no blown highlights... And I like your shooting angle. Well done!

Nice, but I'm too stupid to get the title.
    If not now, when?

I got the title, but it actually detracted from the image. But I persisted and made sure to scroll the page just enough to enjoy the shot for itself.

The title reminds me of a monument in Melbourne at the corner of Russell and Victoria streets. It's an old statue celebrating union successes in changing work hours for labourers, the title of which is "The Eight Hour Movement." All I could ever think to myself until I knew the history was; man that must have been uncomfortable!

thumb.gifclap.gif I like the processing too.
The use of a camera is similar to that of a knife. You can use it to peel potatoes, or carve a flute. ~ E. Kahlmeyer
    ... I'm still peeling potatoes.

Man O Man I would not want that to happen !

We of course have had lots of title talk (and I'm not completely onboard) however I would not
want you or anyone else to be deterred by my Titles to not view my Images.

So I will try and keep them (Titles) neutral mwink.gif

    Thanks Patti.
This one did fall easily in place (processing wise).
Over the years I've come to the conclusion that images that are better nailed in camera
are the ones that need the least processing, are also the ones best received.

OK, I have to ask. Does the title just mean that this is an 8hour/day job for the guy? That makes sense, but doesn't seem especially relevant to this picture as opposed to any other occupational portrait. I understand about 8hour/day jobs, really I do.

Or does it have something to do with the particular object on the counter near his hand? I'm having trouble recognizing that. Is it a measuring tape holder? Packing tape? This is what makes me feel stupid about the title.

PS: nice conversion and especially sharpening.

The Title comes from the subject himself.
After dealing with a tedious customer, who could not seem to grasp the difference between
coarse/fine thread and their incompatibility. I asked him (jokingly) if that was a common occurrence
and his reply was, "8hrs a Day".

I really was going to no title it but that that sound bite stuck with me and hence the title hear.

    As to sharpeining, Thanks
standard workflow in NX2, with an additional final step of selective output sharpening on
    subjects face only.
    settings were 25, 5, 2.
