Springtails are of course small. You've seen one or two already and there are more and more about as the weather edges to warmth.

Here are a couple looking down over the edge of a piece of stone. Not far from top to bottom, a matter of maybe an inch or two at most, but springtails sometimes leap a lot further.

Still,. you would imagine that looking over the edge must seem daunting to something as tiny as these bugs are, being just 2 or 3mm at most.
