Mobile blue banner needs to stay closed when I close it

When I go to the non-mobile version of my site from my Droid, I get a big blue banner across the top of the screen offering to let me view the mobile version of the site. That's fine that it's offered there. But, if I close it to get screen space back (remember we're already screen challenged on a mobile device) and then I go to another page, it's back again. In fact, it's permanently displayed on every page. This just doesn't seem right. Once I manually close it, it should stay away for at least awhile (several hours or a day). I should be able to browse without the blue banner.

I know I can just hide the whole blue banner with CSS, but I'd rather let my viewers see the option, just not have to live with it on every page if they choose to close it. Is the current behavior really the intended behavior?

Fair enough, how long does everyone think it should stay hidden? I am leaning towards going with a full 24 hours.

Would the hidden-ness be Smugmug-wide (e.g. apply to all Smugmug sites) or just to the specific site you closed the blue bar on? For a given site only, I'm fine with making it longer (24-48 hrs) since you've voted that you don't need it on that particular site. If it's Smugmug-wide, then shorter is probably better (~6 hrs).

FYI, I'm OK with having something subtle (smaller, less colorful) at the bottom of the page to go back to mobile even after you've closed the blue bar at the top because something at the bottom doesn't get in your way on every page. If anyone didn't like that one, they could always hide it with CSS. Not necessary, but an idea to consider.

It would be site wide - not just for the site (nickname) you were on. (unless it was a custom domain, then it would be just for that).

Moving the bar to the footer is not a bad idea. Or maybe just a link in the footer. I will ask about that.

But for now, lets hide it for 24 hours and see how that goes.
