link to explain CF cards???

I am getting the 7D[the first one sent back] I see all these different cards for sale. different speed ratings some are by like 133x up to 600x, some are by 15mbs to 60 mbs, there will be extremes and extreme IV the same speed, please help, i mean for the 40D i just grabbed lexar 4gb 133x and they worked fine. I do a fair amount of sports so I am looking at the increases fps of the 7D, thank you for your help in advance Mark

    here is a comprehensive test of various cameras with multiple CF cards. if top performance it your goal (high speed RAW shooting) with faster camera buffer emptying onto the card, then pick a card that equals/exceeds the write speed of the camera body.

    if the 7D is not listed, the 5DMII is probably a good comparison.

    Gecko is giving good advice and that Rob Galbraith site is the best for empirical testing of cameras and cards. The 7D does use DMA transfer, while the 40D does not, and that's why the 5D MKII might yield more similar results.
